a better day!- day 12

Today was nice. I attempted to take a bath..that had to be a funny site if someone actually saw me. I'm down to two pills a day.. I could take up to 12. I'd say I'm doing fantastic. I even got my own ice cream today.. the hard part was carrying it back to the table on crutches haha.
Nathaniel came to visit Leo and I today. We watched 4 episodes of I LOVE LUCY and just laughed and laughed. It was so fun.
Tomorrow I am getting my hair done again then going to lunch and shopping w/ Rhonda..I love getting out and doing ANYTHING.
I was going to go to the bar w/ Jeff tonight, but when he told me it was going to be me and 8 guys I decided against it, even though he kept insisting. lol. :P

Better get some rest for tomorrow :)

We picked baby up today from the vet.. he is so sad..(he got neutered today) he hates that cone thing. He's been crying alot, not because we think he's in pain but because he's just uncomfortable. Poor baby.

My leg however today was not a good day..the cotton and bandage has moved all the way down from my mid thigh to my knee..i was freaking out..since there is were the incision was..my dad had to re-wrap it for me. my leg is very week..i hate it.

I just wanted to thank you all who are reading this and writing to me! i'm sorry I haven't responded but I really appreciate it alot!!..Meg your the best! :)

Merry Christmas!!-one week

So Its been a week since my surgery. I'm doing really well. I'm down to 3 pain pills a day. I can take up to 12 a day..So i would say I'm doing pretty great!. I can actually sleep on my side and stomach now so I'm pretty excited about it. I have to admit tho, I'm getting tired of TV, however NOT tired of all the sleep I am able to get. And the help with Leo is fantastic! He is getting neutered tomorrow. Poor guy.
Yesterday Nate and Carol stopped by. That was great! Carol took a tumble down our stairs. I thought I would never stop laughing. :)
My mom gave me a present a day early. A Pandora bracelet!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :). I had only asked for 3 charms, but she got 14!! plus spacers!! omg I am so excited!! she did such a great job picking out charms that have special meaning to me. I love my momma! She's the best :) She said "I couldn't just get you 3 charms, it wouldn't look right." ha ha oh mom.
Can't wait to see what else Santa found for me! I'm sure he did VERY good!!!(well since I know half my gifts anyways.)
Okay now that I sound like a spoiled brat, I guess I'll wrap this up..ha ha ;)

bummed-day five

Almost forgot to write today. Today was Erin's Bridal Shower..I had to miss it.. it totally sucks. I probally won't even get to see Kelly while she's up here this time..I'll have to wait til March. That sucks too :(

But on a good note I was able to go to Artistry and they washed and styled my hair for me..yes!

Leo was a crazy dog today, jumped on my leg a few times..bad dog..

Did I MENTION the lump they removed was on my nerve and that is why i was having so much pain..we're talking permant nerve damage if i push to hard :(

visitors!-day four

well the pain is getting less and less, just really sore still. But what makes it all better are the people who have come to see me!
Last night I had a surprise visit with Jeffrey James. He stayed for about an hour and we had a great time. Then today Erin came to see me! I'm so sad I can't make it to her shower tomorrow, but she is being more than understanding!
My big's in town now..I probally won't get to see her tho, now I won't see her til March. That bums me out.
Today my grandparents are going to come spend the evening with me so my parents can go do some errands. YAY!

sore sore sore-day three

Well day three, here I am. Today I could barely get out of bed. My hip bone is so tight, and my neck and back are stiff from having to lay on my back all this time. But other than a little pain today, I'm doing okay. Just watching Golden Girls.. I love this show. Leo is being hilarious. He really knows there is something wrong with me because he will jump on the right side of me and fly onto the bed and just sore over my leg. He's quite a barker today though. My poor mom, she's got a cold and has to make conference calls, and here's Leo..barking mad. He's behaving very well tho. I love my puppy ;)
Allrighty well my back is in a ton of pain so I'm going to rest..

long day

Well its my third post of the day. the pain is pretty bad right now. The dr. said it would be the worst today and tommrrow. Hopefully he's right. at one point today, I had a hard time even moving my leg. But i'm truckin on. Whats bad is that the had to take the lump right off the nerve. Thats why my surgery was so "dangerous" I guess you could call it. So I can't even leave my house for like a week or so. It blows.. I'm over this whole surgery thing.
i keep getting nausues and just want to play w/ my puppy :(.
Alright I'm done complaining..good night for now.

Leo came home..he's not allowed to get to close to me..it makes me sad. I miss not holding my baby boy.
I feel like my toes may fall off. This wrap around my leg is huge and tight.

same time as yesterday-day two

Hello!
look at that I'm up at the same time..ha ha, sorry I didn't write last night when I got home. I just plopped on the couch, ate some homemade veg. soup and fell asleep. Oh but I woke up at 10:50 to see who Tila Tequilla picked. She picked the boy, Bobby, figures.
I woke up now b/c I was finally able to go the bathroom(heard its hard to pee after surgery) ahha how's that open for ya ;).

We left for the surgery center at 8:30. My mom had taken Leo to his over night slumber party..hmpf. Parking was horrible, as usual, we had to go to the next parking garage..its okay tho, b/c when we got to the waiting room..that is what I did wait for about 30 min before they called me back. The lady who was my pre-nurse, didn't speak english..hardly..so i was freaking out. They even kicked my dad out at first, I didn't like that. So I did what she told me, came back in changed into my robe and jumped into the bed. She then announced in front of my mom "well your not pregnant." i was like well that's great, thank you. She was like 'Mom would kill you" we both just laughed. She did the rest of my regular check up, like blood pressure, check the ears, lol. And then it happened. My anxiety kicked in. My chest got so tight. And tears just started to run out of my eyes. They went and told the anesthesiologist that was going to do my IV that i was having problems.
When she came in, she was amazing. they wrapped my arm in towels(this was the part Nate was telling me about.) Then she massaged my arm and numbed the spot and then put my IV in. Her and my mom talked to me the whole time, I stressed a little, but I did pretty good! I didn't pass out!
At that point my mom walked about to go get my dad, but when she came to the door she said " I have someone who is here to see you" And in walked Nathaniel. I started crying the minute I saw him. I was so happy he was there. He came right up to me, hugged me and asked if I was okay. He stood right by my side for the rest of the time. Even when other people came in, such as his momma, aunt and papaw, Nate never walked away. I was so happy that they all came and saw me. It meant sooo much to me. The nurse came in and put some anxiety medicine in my IV, she said it would make me loopy and it did. Ha ha. I had some really good laughs with them before I had to go in. It was very comforting.
Then it was my dads turn, so me, Nate, my mom and dad were just hanging out until the orderly Alvin came in to wheel me away. He was a character. Like a baptist preacher. Talking about God, and pointing up to the sky...(I'm like what are they going to read me my last rights?) He kept saying I had a great team waiting for me..I was in tears during all this. The minute he walked in. He lead a prayer..this is mine and my dads favorite thing..when people pray..we always peek at each other..today was no different. Then I had to say my goodbyes....this part was very nice. I had the three people I love more than anything around me, and it was a wonderful feeling..Once I could get passed the feeling of fright. Alvin wheeled me out singing "she'll be comin round the mountain when she comes" Oh man. He talked allllll the way to the OR.
At this point I was bombarded by three anesthesiologist assistants. They were amazing. They put me at easy immediately. They moved me over to the operating table and put the sticker circles on me..they were cold. And I don't remember anything past that.
I woke up in recovery. I layed there in the open area. and tried to talk to anyone who walked past. They weren't impressed by me. ha ha. I was hooked to this machine that when my breathing was irregular it beeped..It beeped alot. I just kept telling Becky, the nurse, I wanted to see my family. So when I was able to, they wheeled me into my room. EVERYONE came in. (i cried at that moment too) The whole gang. Momma, Nathaniel, Rhonda, Nay and Papaw. I couldn't believe they waited the whole time. WOW. I don't think they will every understand who much it meant to me that they could be there, and that they gave up pretty much their whole day to spend it waiting for me. My dad had to leave during surgery. He felt awful, I feel bad that he felt bad, but I was NOT upset, he had to go! I love him.
Again Nathaniel stood by my side and just held my hand. Nay and Papaw walked out and my mom went to find the Doctor. Rhonda went to find her. My mom came back in and Nate and Rhonda left for a little bit. The nurse came in and wanted to take me up the crutch therapy. I sat in the wheel chair and got so nauseous. I had to lay back down for a little bit. So when I was ready, my mom was w/ the Doctor so Nate went up with me. This part was challenging. It is hard to learn to use crutches to walk up and down stairs. I was very frustrated. Willie was my driver.. he was so nice :) He took me back to my room and I had to go quick because I was feeling sick. At this point it was time for my visitors to leave. They had been there allll day and needed to get home. I said my goodbyes and then the nurse gave me something for my nauseous feeling. It made me REALLY tired. I passed out right away, with a few interruptions to eat the crackers so I could take my pain medicine before I left. Them crackers were GOOOOOD :). When I finally got enough food in my stomach I took the pill and waited a half n hour, then got dressed and was able to finally go home. I got to the car and we were off! :) It felt so good to be home, I layed right down on the floor. My grandparents came over with the soup. I had some, then passed out.
So here I am now. I have some funny stories about yesterday, ask me when you see me. Thank you everyone for being there for me, I couldn't ask for a better group of people around me. I was so nervous about my first surgery and knowing I have amazing support is so comforting!

wide awake-day one

I have been up since 4:45. Mainly because Leo stepped on my head. It was time for him to go out. He's so funny in the snow. It comes all the way up to his elbows. Do dogs have elbow's? Well if he does that's where the snow came up to. I have since watched two episodes of Fresh Prince..I love that show, one Rocket Power and currently watching Jimmy Neutron. I mean those who know me, understand my TV never leaves channel 9. That's Nick Jr, Nickelodeon and Nick @ Nite. ha ha. I was so drowsy when I woke up I ALMOST got a 7up. But I had a taste for orange juice and was walking to the kitchen and my mom had to stop me. Krista was right..I am REALLY thirsty..bleck.
I can't really fall back to sleep. My mom wants to leave here at 8:30. She's a crazy woman. Leo has to go stay at the vet today. He's sooo cute, this morning when I was walking, he griped on to my back and walked behind me as I walked. It was our very own conga line, until he started slipping and his nails dug into my leg, several times.
Last night I didn't even get home til 9:30. I went to the mall...made huge damage at moochie and co. I LOVE IT THERE. My dog is so spoiled. I ate some Wendy's, watched the I love New York finale, she picked the wimp, and went to bed.
So here I am. Just watching the time fly by. Getting nervous, but staying positive. I am so excited to see Rhonda, Nay and Nathaniel there :)
